TTF APPLAUDS FUNDING BOOST FOR SYDNEY’S NEWEST INTERNATIONAL GATEWAY
The Tourism & Transport Forum (TTF) has welcomed the announcement of the $8 million Western Sydney International Take-Off Fund. Announced today by the NSW Government, the pledged investment will be matched by the 24-hour precinct, totalling a $16 million contribution that looks to boost aviation capacity and support the state’s visitor economy ahead of the airport’s 2026 opening.
This grant marks a vital step in strengthening Sydney, and Australia’s wider aviation sector. The fund expects to incentivise international airlines to introduce new routes and enhance the region’s connectivity, allowing for greater passenger flow and improved access to global markets.
As airline tickets for WSI flights go on sale in late 2025, TTF welcomes the announcement of this initiative as a catalyst to further enhance international connectivity, passenger capacity, and the state’s visitor economy.
